The Men’s TX4 R Approach Shoe brings back La Sportiva’s original moonwalking style in the most modern way possible. Even though it looks like it, this isn’t your grandaddy’s trekking shoe, but you could possibly be hiking in this shoe with your grandkids someday. As La Sportiva’s strongest approach shoe, the TX 4 uses a mostly-leather upper encapsulated in rubber for long-lasting durability. There are a couple mesh panels for breathability, and La Sportiva made those panels with recycled material. The rubber rand is also recycled, and the leather uses a metal-free tannery for an environmentally thoughtful design. Underfoot, a plethora of braking, biting, and control systems give you a stable, supportive stride even with a pack full of climbing gear. Vibram’s Megagrip rubber sole gives the best traction in the biz, and you can resole it to last until the style’s double-retro.
